Borgland Dolphin

Goodtech has upgraded safety and control systems on the partially submerged drilling rig, Borgland Dolphin.

Goodtech's undertaking includes among other things, replacement of F6C and ESD, PLS equipment, UCS operator systems, control systems for watertight doors, control systems for ventilation systems and control systems for power management.

Goodtech has been responsible for pilot studies, engineering, procurement, construction of EST and B&G cabinets, installation and commissioning, supplements to deliveries of PLS equipment, servers, operator stations, cabinets, F&G equipment, etc.

Equipment and systems are installed/upgraded offshore, with the platform in continuous operation.

About the delivery:

PLC equipment
- S5 system replaced by S7-417-H, redundant
- Siemens PCS7 platform
- Upgraded to redundant bus controller system ET200M
- Failsafe I/O
- PROFISafe communications between PLS and I/O.

Servers and operator stations
- Installation of two servers and two operator stations, one engineering station
- LCD monitors, DNV approved

Cabinets
- Replaced old main cabinet with new Rittal cabinet
- Upgraded expansion cabinets

F&G equipment
- BS100 central unit replaced with AutroSafe central unit
- Replacement of all detectors in field
- New expansion AutroSafe panel installed
