During 2010, Nexans' production capacity in Halden was doubled. Norway's highest building, a tower rising 122 metres above the ground, houses a new production line for what is termed in the industry as PEX insulation of advanced submarine cables.
In this project Goodtech has provided consulting services in mechanics, processes, electronics and automation. The assignment was difficult and demanding because production on the existing line was carried out as usual while work was underway.
Previous assignments for Nexans have encompassed everything from planning and studies, calculations and design, to installation follow-up and commissioning of production equipment in the plant. Examples of typical assignments are project management in investment projects and projects in the plant, advanced detailed planning, multi-disciplinary projects, specifications, negotiations with subcontractors and energy saving projects.
Moreover, Goodtech has delivered instrumentation, monitors, PLS and HMI systems and conducted projects related to high voltage, electrical power, rotating equipment, machine directives, etc.
