LKAB KA3/KK4

In 2008, LKAB Kiruna's new ore dressing plant and pelleting plant were ready to be put in service. In construction of the new plants, Goodtech contributed through its role as a significant electrical and power supplier in several large sub-projects.

One assignment involved delivery of 20 medium voltage converters for 60 kV, with associated medium voltage substations and communications networks for remote connection to the converters. The frequency converters are of the Allen-Bradley brand (from Rockwell Automation) and this project is unique insofar as that nowhere in the world, have so many medium voltage converters been delivered and put in service at the same time.

Other assignments we can mention, besides the delivery, installation and commissioning of medium voltage converters, are expansion of an existing 130 kV substation, delivery and installation of medium voltage bays, delivery and installation of transformers for lighting and process electricity, and installation of low voltage frequency converters.
