The manufacture of fish feed is a combination of batch production and a continuous process that includes receipt of goods, blending and mixing, extrusion, drying, cooling and coating. Material handling and logistics involve the packing and labelling of large sacks and bulk deliveries.
Goodtech’s deliveries have included industrial IT systems for the fish feed process, machine packing lines, robots, control of blending unit, PLS control and monitor-based control, integration of recipe optimisation program and Movex ERP system, as well as mobile units to manage alarms.
Follow-up calculations reveal that Goodtech’s deliveries have contributed to rationalising work processes, better product quality, better control of stock, reduced raw material costs, better utilisation of production equipment and full traceability from raw material to finished product. Other effects have also been achieved, for example better customer service.
