Aitik36

Gällivare, 100 kilometres north of the Arctic Circle, was the site of Sweden's largest industrial investment during 2008 and 2009 when Boliden invested in doubling the capacity of one of Europe's largest copper mines – the Aitik mine. This increased yield from 18 to 36 million tons of ore annually.

Among other things, this investment included an entirely new ore dressing plant, a new crushing plant, new storage locations and associated conveyors, of which some are several kilometres long.
Goodtech and Boliden sat down together at an early stage to establish guidelines, results, procurement plans and timetables. This approach resulted in a collaborative project free from conflicts, in which we were always pulling in the same direction. Due to this, both the timetable and project budget could be held.

To manage this delivery, Goodtech marshalled its resources from various local offices in Sweden, and through an intelligent system with personnel rotation and a clear division of responsibilities, we provided complete resource staffing throughout the project, even though at times there were more than 190 men from Goodtech involved.

On the Aitik36 project, Goodtech's undertaking included among other things, installation of general power and lighting gear, trunking, instrumentation and process electricity.
