The Hornsberg cooling water reservoir stores naturally cooled water from the Värten Straits during the night and then distributes it to consumers in central Stockholm during the day. The capacity is 80 MW, which supplies the approximately 100 office buildings with district cooling.
In the expanded facility, Goodtech installed power supply gear, backup power gear and electrical boards, with electrical and instrument installation being especially extensive. Moreover, a Siemens PCS7 control system was installed. This enables the facility to now be controlled from operator sites at Värtan or Ropsten.
About 30 persons from Goodtech were involved in the project, including electricians on site and in the shop, as well as programmers and engineers.
